KBC ( Kaun Banega Crorepati) 2011 offers 5 crores as top prize to 'aam aadami'

'Panch Koti Mahamoney' that is how it will be called. If a KBC 2011 participant answers the thirteenth question right, he or she will carry home a cool Rs.5 crores home. The format of the show has been simplified with a 'Manchaha Padav' option. Participants will be able to pick their own 'padav' defending on their confidence levels. They will be subjected to a time limit to answer their questions till they reach the 'padav'. If they answer the questions correctly, they will be assured of taking away the winnings till that point. There will be no 'padav' or time limit thereon.

According to Sony Entertainment Television (SET) officials, they had received 45 lakh applications from 'aam aadami' from the hinterland of the Nation cutting across all caste, creed, sex, language, and regional barriers and their slogan 'koi insaan chota nahin hota' has had a terrific connect with the people. It is a logical extension of the previous theme 'koi sawal chota nahin hota'.

KBC 2011 begins on 15th August, 2011, in the 8.30-9.30 PM time band. This suits better the audiences in smaller towns and Kasbahs who are generally back home around this time. This also fits in well with the Channel's strategy to expand its viewership base and mass appeal while keeping in tune with the 'aam aadami' theme of the popular game show. The Channel is aiming to get into the top three bracket among all the GECs and hoping that Big B's charisma and the popular appeal of KBC 2011, and the other popular shows in the prime time band will help it garner better TVRs.

Tele actress Reshmi Ghosh approached for Parichay

Telivision actress Reshmi Ghosh who has been a Balaji loyalist with shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Tere Liye to her credit has been approached once again by the production house to play an important role in Colors' Parichay.

Our source informs, "Reshmi who was last seen hosting Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur on Sony has been approached to play a pivotal role in Parichay. Earlier Deeya Chopra was approached for the same role. Reshmi will essay the character of Kunal's (Sameer Soni) ex-girlfriend Richa. In the show, problems will develop between Richa and Kunal and they will get separated." Reshmi Ghosh said, "Yes, I have been approached for the show but nothing has been finalised yet."

Music Na Super Star The New Reality Show on Suvarna

Suvarna announces the new musical reality show, Music Na Super Star. The new show replaces season 2 of Pyate Hudigir Halli Lifu, at 8pm weekday band, starting from 6th June.
The show will feature 12 young and upcoming singers, who will vie to become complete music artists.
In order to ensure transparency and also to provide guidance and mentor the contestants, noted singer Rajesh Krishnan and celebrated danseuse & noted actress, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy will be the main judges. Praveen and Aishwaraya will be comparing the show.
The 12 contestants will be living in one large gurukul for next 40 days, where music will be their world. They will be groomed not only for enhancing singing skills, but will be trained under expert choreographers, stylists, musicians and voice trainers for complete makeover.

Music Na Super Star Will be Telecast from 6th June, at 8 P.M During weekdays.

Didn't use daughter's name to win Bigg Boss: Shweta Tiwari

Shweta Tiwari, the first woman to bag the Bigg Boss title, says people feel she had got sympathy votes for being a single mother, but she never used her daughter to win the show.

Many of Shweta's fellow contestants felt that she kept talking about her daughter on the show and that would have led her to win, but the popular television actress completely refutes such claims.

"I never said it, everyone in the house used to say that Shweta is a single mother and she needs this money. I'm not so weak that I will use my daughter to win. I am capable enough that even if I would have not won this, I would have been able to take good care of her," the 30-year-old told IANS in an interview.

The actress has daughter Palak from her estranged husband Raja Choudhary who had also participated in the season two of Bigg Boss, which was won by Ashutosh Kaushik.

Shweta pipped other finalists - Dolly Bindra, Ashmit Patel and Khali - to bag the top honour and says the win was unexpected.

"I never thought that I could win. I had thought that the top two contestants would be Khaliji and Ashmit because even in the earlier seasons no girl had won. When Ashmit got evicted, both of us were left. Khaliji is an international superstar and there is no comparison to the kind of fan following he has, so I thought that I won't win, I was convinced about that," said Shweta who became a household name after her stint on the long running show Kasautii Zindagii Kay.

"But finally when Salmanbhai announced my name, I was blank for a few minutes. I just couldn't believe it. It's only after few minutes that the feeling sunk in and I realised that I have actually won. It felt great," she added.

The actress won Rs.1 crore after being in the house for 14 weeks.

What does she plan to do with the money?

"To run my house, I earn money and I'll keep doing that but with this money I know that even if I don't work for a little while, my next two years are secure.

"I want to invest the money in a place which will help me in taking care of my daughter's future because I am in a very unpredictable line where you don't know what will happen tomorrow," said Shweta, who gives the credit for her win to Palak.

"I think wherever I am in my profession today, I give entire credit to my daughter. Earlier I used to do small character roles. My daughter was born in October and February I got a call from Balaji and I became Prerna of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She brought luck for me and this time too," said the doting mother.

When asked who she disliked the most in the house, the actress refrained from taking any names saying: "I am very diplomatic and I don't want to take any names."

Bigg Boss 4 started with 14 contestants, and had two wild card entries in subsequent weeks, with a three-day guest appearance by Hollywood actress Pamela Anderson. The show was full of controversies throughout its run, but entertained the audiences thoroughly.
